Redesigning this Blog

Okay guys, this blog needs a redesign. Unfortunately, it means we’re going to have to go offline for probably 48 hours. I’m not exactly sure when that’ll happen, but assuming I don’t break anything we will be back!

Probably you’ll still be able to access individual posts if you go straight to their permalink; if you do, and they look odd, you know why!

We’ll probably disappear later today.

  1. Noooooooooo!

Looking forward to the new look.

My one great hope: that comments will be able to be nested, and there will be reply function so that there is coherent threading as opposed to the flat fomrating currently employed. Probably too much to ask.

  2. Is this like having your oxygen gradually removed? If anyone’s utterly desperate, they can visit my blog and weigh in on the title of my forthcoming book. Be nice. I’m sensitive about these things.

  3. Is it possible to have the names of the people posting a blog to appear on the opening page? As it it, one does not know who is writing what from looking at the website. Jeff

Is it possible to have the names of the people posting a blog to appear on the opening page? As it it, one does not know who is writing what from looking at the website.

    It already does, Jeff!

So on the opening page, under the title for this post, it says:

“Posted on April 29th, 2009 by Jeremy Stangroom “

  5. Dear Jeremy,

Here is what I see on the front page…

Death and the Art of Living
The manner in which we approach death is in our own hands.
    Date filed: 28 April 2009 | 6:42 pm

No name. Maybe we are looking at different screens. I am looking at the top page.

    Jeff

  6. How odd. Are you accessing the site here:

    http://blog.talkingphilosophy.com/

Is there anybody else seeing what Jeff is seeing?

  7. My guess is Jeff is talking about

    http://www.philosophersnet.com/

  8. Ah yes, good spot!

    Jeff – check out:

    http://blog.talkingphilosophy.com

that’s where most people are accessing the site!

I’m redesigning the whole TPM site, so that will change too.
